Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a plate material for printing, a method for regenerating it and a printing machine in which the plate can be directly prepared from digital data and an enough quality of an image for practical use can be prepared without requiring a developing process and a developing liquid and it is possible to regenerate the plate material and to repeatedly use it.
SOLUTION: A hydrophobic printing area 4 is formed of an organic compound which is decomposed and removed by irradiating at least a part of a coating layer 3 of the plate material P for printing having a hydrophilic coating layer 3 containing the titanium oxide photocatalyst with a light having a higher energy than the band gap energy of a titanium oxide photocatalyst. The printing area 4 is returned thereby from hydrophobiacity to hydrophilicity by irradiating it with the light having a higher energy than the band gap energy of the titanium oxide photocatalyst and the coating layer 3 is easily regenerated.
