Abstract:

SOLUTION: A method according to the present invention prepares a print job for a printing operation (15), and includes providing at least one first data set (1a) assigned to the print job (1) and multiple reference data sets (2a) assigned to individual reference jobs (2), the method including the steps of: providing multiple mutually complementary data sets (2a, 3) for each one of a plurality of reference jobs (2); executing automatic filtering step (4), therein, providing at least one second data set (2a) out of the reference data sets of the plurality of reference jobs; and using the second data set for the printing operation as a replacement of or an addition to the at least one first data set (1a).EFFECT: The method enables manufacturing high-quality printed products while saving time, for instance makeready time for the printing operation, as well as, costs resulting from, for instance, unusable prints or quality defects in printing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
