Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recycling currently unworthy waste glass bottles classified as general waste and waste asphalt concrete blocks classified as industrial waste into a hot asphalt mixture containing waste glass grains for use in pavement construction.
SOLUTION: Waste glass such as waste glass bottles is crushed into glass grains 2.5 mm or less in size, and waste asphalt concrete blocks are disintegrated into aggregate grains, with asphalt deposited thereon, 13 mm or less in size. The glass grains and aggregate grains are heated and mixed at approximately 165±10°C for 4-6 minutes in a drum mixer 111. An admixture for recycling is next added to the resultant mixture of waste glass grains and aggregate grains for the preparation of recycled asphalt. New liquid asphalt is then added to the recycled asphalt, and they are mixed.
