Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the release of an aminothiol compound from a modified cation exchange resin in the preservation of the resin having sulfonic acid groups partly modified with the aminothiol compound as a catalyst for the preparation of bisphenol.
SOLUTION: The modified cation exchange resin is preserved in water of pH 2-7.
