Title:
METHOD FOR PRESERVING ANIMAL-DERIVED CORNEA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008037824
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for preserving an animal-derived cornea, which preserves an animal-derived cornea for a long period of time without impairing a cornea tissue, etc., namely preserves an animal-derived cornea in a state close to natural state for a long period of time without inactivating or perishing activity of animal-derived cornea.

The method for preserving an animal-derived cornea comprises preserving an animal-derived cornea in an electrostatic field atmosphere. The electrostatic field atmosphere is formed by impressing an alternating current or direct current of 100V-5,000V to electrodes. The preservation temperature in the electrostatic field atmosphere is -20 to 40C. An animal-derived cornea can be preserved even at -12 to -1C at which the animal-derived cornea is frozen if not in an electrostatic field atmosphere. The method is useful for preserving an animal-derived cornea, especially in a corneal implant field.
