Abstract:
PURPOSE: To suppress lowering of freshness and deterioration such as discoloration of a betel nut by placing the betel nut in a container, keeping the oxygen concentration in the interior of the aforementioned container within a specific range and preserving the betel nut.
CONSTITUTION: A betel nut is placed in a container and a disoxidizer containing at least one selected from the group consisting of preferably chlorates, chlorites and hypochlorites and iron powder is made to coexist therewith. Thereby, the oxygen concentration in the aforementioned container is kept at 0.5-5vol.% to preserve the betel nut.
