To provide a method for preserving farm crops intended for solving such problems that even if forcibly letting vegetables photosynthesize through irradiating the vegetables with strong light, the decrease of nutritive components inside the vegetables is prevented, but it is impossible to increase nutritive components, essential water to photosynthesis is consumed, water content in the vegetables remarkably decreases and the vegetables wither.
This method for preserving farm crops comprises giving proper external stress from the outside to farm crops such as vegetables after harvesting so as to bring inside the vegetables biological defense reaction of removing a very small amount of active oxygen which generates as a result of defense reaction to the stress, and also bring vital reaction which produces nutritive components such as vitamin C and vitamin A as antioxidant to make active oxygen harmless. As a result of this, vegetables/fruits naturally become nourishing by their characteristics without adding nutrition from the outside. A storage for farm crops and a refrigerator are also provided.
