In a method of producing ethanol from a lignocellulose material, the lignocellulose material is supplied from the material supply port of cleaning equipment, and rinse water is supplied to the material supplied to the cleaning equipment, thereby removing foreign matter mixed in the material, and then the water contained in the material cleaned in the cleaning process is dehydrated with a dehydrator.
