Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing buckling in the train formation which may be brought about when the vehicles collide with one another, a method for restraining the shaking of the vehicles, and a railroad vehicle which either reduces the possibility of buckling in the train formation or reduces lateral movement (yawing) to provide riding comfort.
SOLUTION: Hydraulic cylinders 12 are provided on both right and left sides of a tight lock coupler 10. The hydraulic cylinders 12 are oriented diagonally to the longitudinal direction of the tight lock coupler 10. Each hydraulic cylinder 12 has its cylinder body 13 mounted on a body frame 1 and has its cylinder rod 14 attached to the tight lock coupler 10 at its portion closer to the longitudinal end of a vehicle body than the cylinder body 13. The cylinder bodies 13 of the right and left hydraulic cylinders 12 are interconnected by an oil feed pipe. A flow control valve is incorporated into the oil feed pipe. The flow control valve is connected to a control device.
