Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the corrosion of a metal, e.g. a tinplate, used as a container for an aerosol product effectively, by adding an amine as a rust preventing agent to the aerosol product.
CONSTITUTION: An amine such as a primary to tertiary monoamine, polyamine or hydrazine (derivative) in which the hydrogen atom of ammonia is substituted by an aliphatic (cyclic) or aromatic hydrocarbon residue, e.g. morpholine, cyclohexylamine or benzylamine, in an amount of 0.0001W10wt%, preferably 0.005W2wt%, as a rust preventing agent is added to a hydrous aerosol product containing preferably dimethyl ether as a propellant to prevent the corrosion of a metal.
USE: Various aerosol products, e.g. hair sprays, deodorants and anti-inflammatory agents.
