Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent effectively the deformation of a welded structure under strain during plating by applying repeating load to the structure to relieve and uniformize the residual stress in the members. CONSTITUTION:Repeating load is applied about several times to a welded structure 1 to be plated approximately to the elastic limit by means of jacks 2 to relieve and uniformize the residual stress in the members. The load is controlled so that the structure 1 has the regular dimensions before plating. By this method, the deformation of the structure 1 during plating can be prevented without requiring equipment for carrying out stress relief annealing or other treatment.
