PURPOSE: To prevent generation of wrinkles on an interleaving strip of paper by giving a very thin metal strip bent parts in the longitudinal direction by pushing a wave eliminating roll onto the metal strip at a very near position to a winding reel.
CONSTITUTION: As for winding a very thin metal strip 1 onto a winding reel 2, a wave eliminating roll 7 is installed in a position just before a location where the strip 1 is lapped on an already wound part of the strip 1. That is, the position is most apart from a deflector roll 3 and is just before the reel 2. Then, the roll 7 is pushed onto the strip 1 to give the strip 1 bent parts in the longitudinal direction to flat a sectional shape of the strip 1, to eliminate waves in parallel to the longitudinal direction, and to wind the strip 1 onto the reel 2 together with an interleaving strip 5 of paper. Thus, the strip 5 is wound without generation of wrinkles.
