Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of pitting with certainty by exerting chromizing treatment, removing a powdery penetrant, and then neutralizing and washing the remaining penetrant within 24hr.
CONSTITUTION: After chromizing treatment is performed, e.g., by a powder packing method by using a powder penetrant, the above powder penetrant is removed. After the above removal of the powder penetrant, neutralization and washing are carried out within 24hr by using, e.g., an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. By this method, the occurrence of pitting in a chromizing- treated material can be prevented.
