To provide a method for preventing snow mold of lawn, being low in cost and not requiring much labor and being in no danger of environmental contamination.

The method for preventing snow mold of lawn comprises spreading a covering material containing an agent (hereinafter referred to as antifungal agent) against snow mold of lawn onto the lawn at the stage before accumulation of snow in winter season. The antifungal agent comprises, preferably, a natural enemy microorganism (including a competitive inhibitor) against a single kind of or a plural kinds of snow molds and/or an active ingredient derived from the natural enemy microorganism. The covering material is preferably a porous sheet and the material has air permeability, water permeability and a sustained-release property of the antifungal agent. The covering material has, preferably, a heat-insulating property and biodegradability.
