To provide a method and an apparatus capable of easily and surely preventing submergence of a vehicle with a simple and inexpensive means.
A vehicle is placed on an air-tight sheet larger than a bottom surface shape of the vehicle, both sides, front and rear portions of the sheet are bent upward along both side surfaces and front/rear surfaces of the vehicle to support the peripheral edge of the sheet to the vehicle peripheral surface in an appropriate way. The bottom surface and the peripheral surface lower portion of the vehicle are covered with the sheet, it is possible to prevent water from invading into a cabin. No water enters the cabin, therefore, a space in the cabin generates buoyancy, thus floating the vehicle on the water in case of a flood or the like.
