To provide a printing method that can print by once pressing a pad to at least a hemi-spherical part of a spherical material to be printed, and can restrain elongation and distortion caused in an image printed in the spherical material to be printed, and to provide a printing pad for use in the same.
In a hollow printing pad 10 having a transfer surface 13a, when the transfer surface 13a is pressed, gas in a hollow part 14 is released to the outside of the printing pad 10. Ink or coating is applied to a printing plate where a recessed part is formed, and the transfer surface 13a of the printing pad is pressed to the printing plate to transfer the ink or coating in the recessed part to the transfer surface 13a of the printing pad. The transfer surface 13a of the printing pad to which the ink or coating is transferred is pressed to the material 1 to be printed until at least the hemi-spherical part of the material 1 to be printed is wrapped in the transfer surface 13a of the printing pad to transfer the ink or coating to the material 1 to be printed.
