To ingest Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) having a high nutritive value and useful for preventing lifestyle-related illness, etc., without decreasing the nutritive value.
A beverage to be ingested is formed out of a granular material which is produced by using grains (seeds) of the Tartary buckwheat as a raw material, wherein the granular material is produced by a method including (1) a process for soaking the grains of the Tartary buckwheat in water to germinate the grains, (2) a process for cooking the germinated grains to pregelatinize amyloid and to crystallize proteins, (3) a process for removing husks of the grains, (4) a process for grinding the grains from which the husks are removed to form the grains into granules of 10-40 mesh, and (5) a process for baking the formed granules, so as to obtain the granular material having a smell specific to the buckwheat and a traditional smell similar to that of barley tea.
