PURPOSE: To provide a picture processing method capable of executing high speed data processing using a picture memory.

CONSTITUTION: Picked up picture data are temporarily stored in a picture memory constituted of plural DRAMs 1 to 4 and the stored data are read out to be subjected to data processing. The DRAMs 1 to 4 are accessed by the same address and read out of data is performed in parallel. In a method for storing picture data in these DRAMs 1 to 4, the picture data are successively written in respectively different DRAMs every horizontal row so that the picture element data on one horizontal row are continuously arrayed on the same row address of one DRAM.
