Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cycle time, so as to improve productivity by forming the outside diameter joining tip into a taper shape through a process of simultaneously applying drawing and ironing to the outside diameter joining part of a disc.
SOLUTION: The outside diameter joining part 3d is formed into a taper shape by simultaneously applying drawing and ironing after first press working. In relation to the degree of taper, the outside diameter joining part is so processed that the thickness on the tip may be the final thickness. Therefore, it can be easily processed into the final shape and size in next upsetting. In the outside diameter joining tip 3d, a taper part 3e to be so formed as to be favorable for a design, a 5° taper surface 3f required to be fitted to a rim bead sheet part, and a tip end surface 3g whose length is determined for arc welding to the rim bead surface at the distance (h) from the hub attaching surface are upset into the final shape and size.
