Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing high-purity 2,6-NDA having a small alkali metal content. The present invention relates to a method for producing a high-purity 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, comprising a purification step of washing a crude 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid having a specific surface area of 2 m 2 /g or more in the presence of an aqueous medium under a temperature condition of 90 °C or more and less than 200 °C.
