To provide a production method of 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propanoic acid analogue compound.SOLUTION: The production method is for the 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propanoic acid analog compound represented by formula (I), wherein a lactic acid bacterium that can reduce the 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid represented by formula (II) is used and cultured under anaerobic conditions. (In the formula (I) and formula (II) 1 or more Rs from positions 2, 3, 5 and 6 can be substituted, and the substituent can independently be a hydroxyl group or the like.)SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
