Abstract:
To provide a method for producing 3-amino-1-propanol, comprising the catalytic hydrogenation of ethylene cyanohydrin, by which the highly pure 3-amino-1-propanol can be produced from the reaction mixture by a simple distillation after the finish of the reaction.
The 3-amino-1-propanol is produced by catalytically hydrogenating the ethylene cyanohydrin in the presence of Raney-cobalt catalyst and ammonia, while the ethylene cyanohydrin is supplied to the reaction system.
