This method for producing the 3,5-dichlorotoluene comprises bringing a dichlorotoluene isomer mixture into contact with a faujasite type zeolite-based adsorbent containing Pb ions in the coexistence of trimethylbenzene to separate the 3,5-dichlorotoluene as an extract component. Thereby, the highly pure 3,5-dichlorotoluene can efficiently be produced.
