Abstract:
Dehydro-epiandrosterone (DHEA) derivatives (I) are new. Dehydro-epiandrosterone (DHEA) derivatives (A) are new. [Image] n : 1 or 2; R 1, R 2oxo or -O-W-O-; W : 2-8C linear, branched, cyclic, saturated or unsaturated alkyl (preferably CH 2CH 2); Z 1, Z 2oxo, hydrogen/hydroxy, two hydrogen or hydrogen/R 5COO; R 5R 4-phenyl, methyl (optionally substituted by 1-3 chloro) or ethyl; R 4hydrogen, nitro, methoxy, cyano, chloro, bromo or fluoro; R : (HO) mOC-X-CO-; m : 0 or 1; X : 2-20C linear, branched, cyclic, saturated or unsaturated alkyl, 6-20C aryl or 8-20C aralkyl; and provided that: (1) m is 0 when n = 2 or 1 when n = 1; and (2) when n = 1 and Z 1and Z 2= two hydrogen, then X is other than dimethylene or hexamethylene. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) methods for preparing (I); and (2) compounds of formula (VIII). [Image] MA : cosmetically active molecule, i.e. retinol, an alpha -hydroxyacid, an alpha -ketoacid, alpha -bisabolol, all-trans farnesol, alpha -tocopherol or a natural amino acid. ACTIVITY : Dermatological; Nootropic; Neuroprotective; Immunostimulatory; Anorectic; Antidiabetic; Cytostatic; Immunomodulator; Anti-HIV; Immunosuppressive. No details of tests for these activities are given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
