To provide a continuous synthetic method for producing acetylene diuriene (glycoluril), capable of supplying the product in a high yield, scarcely producing by-products, nor causing wastes.
This method for producing the acetylenediurene comprises continuously producing the glycoluril by reacting glyoxal with urea in the presence of a mineral acid, wherein the glyoxal, the urea, and the mineral acid are continuously fed into at least one reactor having a mixing device, the reactants are reacted in the reactor, a suspension containing the glycoluril in a mother liquor is taken out of the reactor, the acetylenediurene is mechanically separated from the mother liquor, and the remaining mother liquid partially or wholly returned into the reactor.
