Abstract:
To provide an industrial method (suitable for large scale production) for producing acid fluorides.
The acid fluorides are suitably produced by causing carboxylic acids to react with sulfuryl fluoride (SO2F2), trifluoromethanesulfonyl fluoride (CF3SO2F) or perfluorobutanesulfonyl fluoride (C4F9SO2F) in the presence of an organic base. Furthermore, recovery by distillation of the aimed product from the reaction liquid after the completion of the reaction containing acid fluorides as a suitable post treatment operation permits efficient desalting without causing hydrolysis of the acid fluorides and very simple operability thereby enabling high productivity.
