Abstract:

To provide a method for producing active material particles having little impurity for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising a compound of alkali metal-iron-fluorophosphate by using a simple solid phase method with high reproducibility.

A method of producing active material particles composed of a compound represented by a general formula: AxM1yM21-yPO4F (In the formula, A is one or two or more of elements selected from Li, Na and K where Na is indispensable and 1≤x≤2, M1 is one or two or more of elements selected from Fe and Co where 0.9≤y≤1, and M2 is one or two or more of elements selected from Mn, Ni, Mg, Al, Ti, V and Zn) includes: a step for mixing raw material powders as a source of A, M1, M2, PO4 and F; a temporary calcination step for heat treating the mixed raw material powders in a non-oxidizing gas; and a proper calcination step for heat treating the obtained temporary calcined matter in the non-oxidizing gas while being surrounded by a metal material.
