Abstract:

To produce acylacetamido-N-sulfohalides and oxathiazine by using a novel acetoacetylation agent having excellent stability and handleability.

The acylacetamido-N-sulfohalide represented by following formula (3) is produced from an acylketene represented by formula (1) and an amidosulfonyl halide represented by formula (2) (wherein R1 and R2 are identical or different and each H or a reaction-inactive organic group; R3 is H, a reaction-inactive organic group or an organic group or inorganic metal atom that forms a salt by linking to N atom; X is a halogen). The acylamido-N- sulfohalides is cyclized to give oxathiazines that is useful as a sweetening agent.
