Abstract:

To provide an apparatus and a method for reducing an installation cost and performing efficiently and safely oxidoreduction of iron by controlling and maintaining the appropriate temperature in the drying zone of a movable hearth furnace.

A method for producing an agglomerated substance, which treats an agglomerated substance of iron oxide by providing a drying zone for drying the above agglomerated substance of iron oxide just after inserting it in a movable hearth furnace, in producing an agglomerated reduction substance by inserting the agglomerated substance of iron oxide onto the movable hearth which moves inside a reducing furnace and by moving it in a heat/ reduction zone, is characterized by inserting the agglomerated substance of iron oxide containing moisture of 7-40% into the above drying zone, and drying. The method for producing the agglomerated substance further includes making the temperature of the above drying zone 300-1000°C and making the substance stay in the drying zone for 20-300 seconds.
