PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a new production method capable of obtaining a nanoparticle doped with alkali metal ions or alkaline earth metal ions; a method for easily separating/removing the alkali metal ion or alkaline earth metal ion from a solution; and a method of mass spectrometry using a new matrix appropriate to desorption/ionization of a compound.SOLUTION: An alkali metal- and/or alkaline earth metal-doped nanoparticle is synthesized as follows: housing a solution containing a nanoparticle carrier and at least one metal ion selected from alkali metals and alkaline earth metals in a container, and exciting plasma by using a device of microwave plasma treatment in liquid. This alkali metal- and/or alkaline earth metal-doped nanoparticle is used as a laser light-absorbing matrix for an SALDI (surface-assisted laser desorption/ionization) process.
