Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkali metal hydroxide/crown ether complex of which various raw materials are lower in cost and a production process is shorter than a conventional one and that can be obtained with high yield.SOLUTION: A method for producing an alkali metal hydroxide/crown ether complex includes a step of ion exchanging an alkali metal halide/crown ether complex (A) using an ion exchange resin. The alkali metal halide/crown ether complex (A) is preferably obtained by any of the following production methods (1) to (3): (1) a method for reacting triethylene glycol with tosyl halide in the presence of alkali metal ions; (2) a method for reacting triethylene glycol with 1,2-bis-(2-chloroethoxy)ethane in the presence of alkali metal ions; and (3) a method for reacting polyethylene glycol with tosyl halide in the presence of alkali metal ions.SELECTED DRAWING: None
