Abstract:

To provide a method for easily producing an alkane thiol at a low cost at a high reaction rate and in a high yield.

The method for producing the alkane thiol comprises reacting a specific alkyl halide with an alkali metal hydrogen sulfide or ammonium hydrogen sulfide in the presence of water and a phase transfer catalyst in a heterogeneous system to obtain the alkane thiol.
