In producing an alkoxysilane compound by reacting an alcohol with a halosilane compound, ammonia or an organic amine is caused to be present as a neutralizing agent in the reaction system and a salt produced as a by-product is removed from the reaction system. A bromosilane compound, a chlorosilane compound or the like can be used as the halosilane compound, though a chlorosilane compound is often used.
