Abstract:

To provide a method for continuously producing an alkylbenzene diol by mixing a solution containing an alkylphenol with a solution containing hydrogen peroxide to oxidize the alkylphenol, easily controllable of heat generation, safely handleable of a ketone peroxide formed as an intermediate in the reaction liquid upon using a ketone according to the need therefor, and continuously producible of an alkylbenzene diol i.e. an intended product without reducing selectivity.

The method for producing an alkylbenzene diol comprises mixing a solution containing an alkylphenol and a solution containing hydrogen peroxide to oxidize the alkylphenol, using a micromixer comprising a microtubular flow path formed therein and a reaction vessel comprising a microtubular flow path formed therein.
