To provide a method for producing an alkyl tin alkoxide while maintaining quality of the same and in high yield by preventing an untransportable condition caused by solidification of the product in transporting a reaction liquid containing the alkyl tin alkoxide and reduction of the yield caused by degenerated materials in the production process of the alkyl tin alkoxide.
The method for producing the alkyl tin alkoxide is to subject starting materials comprising a dialkyl tin oxide and/or a tetraalkyl dialkoxy distanoxane with a reaction material comprising an alcohol to dehydration reaction, remove a low boiling component containing generated water and obtain the alkyl tin alkoxide. In the reaction, the reaction solution is transported from the reactor by keeping the temperature of the reaction solution in the range of 20-140°C to prevent from solidifying the reaction solution causing the untransportable condition.
