Abstract:
To provide a method for producing alkylene carbonates by reacting an alkylene oxide with carbon dioxide in the presence of a catalyst, characterized by using a polymer having excellent heat resistance as the catalyst, by which the activity of the catalyst can stably be held to produce the colorless highly pure alkylene carbonates having a high quality in good productivity, and to provide the catalyst used for the method for producing the alkylene carbonates.
This method for producing the alkylene carbonates, comprising reacting the alkylene oxide with the carbon dioxide in the presence of the catalyst is characterized in that the catalyst consists essentially of a polymer having a heteroatom cyclic structure.
