Abstract:
To provide: a method for producing an allylic position-substituted methacrylate having a hydroxy group and a sulfide group by using as a raw material a hydroxyl group-containing mercaptan having a hydroxyl group and a mercapto group in a molecule at the same time; and a method for producing a cyclic vinyl compound having a sulfide group by a ring closure reaction of the compound.SOLUTION: An allylic position-substituted methacrylate having a hydroxyl group and a mercapto group can be produced by reacting a methacrylate having an acyloxy group or a halogen group at an allylic position and a hydroxyl group-containing mercaptan in the presence of an organic phosphine compound as a catalyst; and a cyclic vinyl compound having a sulfide group can be produced by subjecting an allylic position-substituted methacrylate having a hydroxyl group and a sulfide group to a ring closure reaction in the presence of boron trifluoride as a catalyst.
