To provide a method for producing an aluminum alloy plate stock for a printing plate where, even if heating treatment time for an aluminum alloy plate is reduced and alkali etching equivalent to pretreatment to roughening treatment is reduced, a roughened face comparable to that in the conventional plate stock can be obtained.
In the method for producing an aluminum alloy plate stock for a printing plate: an aluminum alloy ingot comprising Fe, Si, Cu, Ti and B in specified range compositions, and the balance aluminum with inevitable impurities is prepared; the ingot is subjected to homogenizing treatment composed of a preceding stage of holding at 510 to 560°C for 30 min to 2 hr and a poststage of holding at 460 to 500°C for 30 min to 2 hr; thereafter, hot rolling is started and is finished at ≥360°C; cold rolling is performed; subsequently, process annealing treatment is performed at a heating temperature X°C of 400 to 620°C for a holding time Ysec satisfying Y≥2×108×exp(-0.00284X) in an inert gas atmosphere; and thereafter, final cold rolling is performed.
