Abstract:
To provide a method for producing an amide compound in high efficiency by a Beckmann rearrangement of an oxime compound in a liquid phase under a mild reaction condition.
This method for producing an amide compound such as - caprolactam from an oxime compound such as cyclohexanone oxime by a Beckmann rearrangement in a liquid phase is characterized by comprising reaction using at least one compound selected from the group consisting of sulfuric acid, nitric acid, an aromatic sulfonic acid, an aliphatic sulfonic acid and anhydrides thereof (e.g. P-toluenesulfonic acid anhydride) together with an N,N-dialkylamide compound (e.g. N,N-dimethylformamide) and a carboxylic acid anhydride (e.g. acetic acid anhydride).
