Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an amine oxide by which the high-quality amine oxide having excellent handleability, pH stability and color stability can efficiently be produced in a short time.

The method for producing the amine oxide comprises (A) a step for reacting a tertiary amine with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of carbon dioxide, and (B) a step for regulating the pH of the solution after the reaction by adding an acid to the solution after the reaction obtained by the step (A).
