The method for producing the aromatic amine compound comprises allowing an aromatic compound bearing a leaving group to react with an amine compound in the presence of a base, a copper compound and a phosphorus ligand, where a compound represented by formula (1) is used as the phosphorus ligand. In the formula, Z is a linear, branched or cyclic alkylene group, an alkylene group containing an aromatic ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group; when Z is a linear, branched or cyclic alkylene group, R1-R4 are each independently a linear, branched or cyclic alkyl group; when Z is an alkylene group containing an aromatic ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group, R1-R4 are each independently a linear, branched or cyclic alkyl group, or an optionally substituted aryl group.
