To provide a method for producing an aromatic polyamide fiber cord for reinforcing, which reduces the occurrence of a single filament fray of aromatic polyamide fiber exposed to an end face after cutting, improves adhesiveness and has no reduction in fatigability of a material to be reinforced, or the like.
The method for producing the aromatic polyamide fiber cord for reinforcing includes performing a pretreatment in which a substantially twistless aromatic polyamide fiber is impregnated with a pretreatment liquid consisting essentially of a polyurethane resin and heat-treated and then twisting the pretreated aromatic polyamide fiber. Before the twisting treatment, preferably, a preliminary adhesive treatment in which the aromatic polyamide fiber is impregnated with an adhesive treatment liquid consisting essentially of resorcin-formalin-rubber latex (RFL) and heat-treated is performed, the adhesive treatment liquid contains a chlorophenol compound and the heat treatment temperature during the preliminary adhesive treatment is 130-230C.
