To provide a method for producing an artificial leather, by which the artificial leather having higher light-resistant fastness and giving improved hand, namely softer hand, can be produced by the simple, economical and environmentally friendly method, and to provide the product obtained by the method.
This method for producing the artificial leather comprises immersing a fiber sheet-like material in a mixture comprising (A) the aqueous dispersion of a polyurethane prepolymer obtained from an aliphatic, alicyclic and/or non-aromatic heterocyclic diisocyanate and/or triisocyanate and a linear polyol having a mol. wt. of 500 to 5,000 g/mol and having hydroxy groups at the terminals and (B) an aqueous dispersion or solution of catalyst and at least one crosslinking agent component, and then drying and perfectly reacting the prepolymer at a temperature of 80 to 180°C.
