Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an azo compound represented by formula (3) (wherein, R1 and R2 represent each an alkyl group or the like; and R3 represents a carboxy group or the like) in better yield.

The method for production is carried out as follows. The corresponding diazonium compound is added to an acid addition salt of the corresponding aniline compound or a mixture of the aniline compound with the acid addition salt and reacted therewith.
