PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an azo compound having a thienothiazole skeleton, the method having a small number of steps and being convenient, and a method for producing an aminothienothiazole, and a novel azo compound having a thienothiazole skeleton.SOLUTION: The present invention provides an azo compound having a thienothiazole skeleton, obtained from a reaction illustrated by the formula, for example, and a method for producing the same, comprising the step for making the reaction between an aminothienothiazole and a diazonium salt to occur.SELECTED DRAWING: None
