A method for producing a barium titanate powder includes at least: a step of mixing a titanium oxide powder with a barium carbonate powder; a step of raising a temperature to react the titanium oxide powder with the barium carbonate powder by heating the mixture inside a space to obtain a barium titanate powder. At least in the step of raising the temperature, in a range of a temperature where the titanium oxide powder reacts to the barium carbonate powder, the CO2 concentration inside the space is less than 1%. As a result, the method proceeds the solid phase reaction while controlling each grain growth in a stage that the titanium oxide powder does not yet react to the barium carbonate powder, thereby producing a more micro barium titanate powder.
