To improve biodegradability of biodegradable aromatic polyester represented by a polyethylene terephthalate-adipate copolymer.
An ionization radiation is irradiated to the polyethylene terephthalate-adipate copolymer, and molecular structure is made to cause decomposition reaction prior to crosslinking reaction. More concretely, in vacuum, the ionization radiation is irradiated to the polyethylene terephthalate-adipate copolymer, and the molecular structure is made to cause decomposition reaction, and thus, the biodegradable aromatic polyester is produced. Alternatively, in the air, ray is irradiated to the polyethylene terephthalate-adipate copolymer, and the molecular structure is made to cause decomposition reaction, and thus, the biodegradable aromatic polyester is produced.
