The method for producing the bush, in which a bush base material comprising a steel stock containing 0.32-0.60 mass% of carbon is treated with heat, includes (A) a heating step of heating the outer-diameter surface of the bush base material to 800-870°C with high frequency, (B) a temperature retention step of retaining temperature of the outer-diameter surface of the heated bush base material to 800-870°C, and (C) a cooling step of performing quench cooling of the bush base material from both the outer-diameter surface and the inner-diameter surface of the heated and temperature-retained bush base material.
