To provide a method for producing a car body which can simply and effectively repair the hydrophilized defective part of the surface of the car body in the production of a car and can produce the car body excellent in glossiness.
In the method for producing the car body excellent in glossiness, in a process for finishing the paint film of the car body coated with a surface hydrophilizing coating containing a hydrophilizing agent comprising a silicon compound and/or its condensate, a hydrophilized wax composition containing the hydrophilizing agent is applied to a surface hydrophilized defective part produced by polishing the defective part of the paint film and wiped off, the hydrolyzable group of the hydrophilizing agent is converted in situ in the presence of water into a hydrophilic group and condensed, and the hydrophilizing agent is polymerized, so that the hydrophilized wax composition layer is formed at least in the surface hydrophilized defective part, and its surface is hydrophilized and repaired.
