To provide a method for producing carbon nano structures, by which the highly pure long carbon nano structures can stably be produced.
This method for producing the carbon nano structures uses a catalyst reaction container including a closed container, a catalyst metal substrate for dividing the inner space of the closed space into the first space and the second space, and fixing members for fixing the catalyst metal substrate, wherein the catalyst metal substrate is disposed to have the first surface contacting with the first space and the second surface contacting with the second space, and catalyst particles are disposed on at least one portion of the second surface; supplying a raw material gas containing at least carbon into the first space, and growing the carbon reaching the second surface from the first surface through the inside of the catalyst metal substrate into the carbon nano structures using the catalyst particles as base points.
